One of my close friends was just diagnosed with celiac disease, and also needs to lose around 15 lbs. Gourmet Meals for College Students

Good evening, folks!

My nephew who is living himself and goes to City College of San Francisco and final exam is coming up next week or so. 

He spends weeks and weeks prior going over notes, drinks one or two cups of coffee more than usual, and cram for countless hours at the library. Awsome Montego red pea Soup

Good afternoon, San Franciscans.

What did you have for lunch?

I had Montego Red Pea Soup. This is a delivery meals from Jessie et Laurent.  The chicken broth and some spice combination is characteristic of Island cooking and it works well with  kidney beans.  It’s almost sweet, and would go well with a Rice dish to make a complete protein. I am a devout  rice lover!

This Montego Red Pea Soup was very tasty. It was made with home cooked red kidney beans (called red peas in the Caribbean) and slow cooked with chicken broth, onions, garlic, tomatoes, carrots and ham hock. Fresh lime juice sets it off at the end.
  
In Caribbean cooking beans are sometimes referred to as ‘peas’, and kidney beans are ‘red peas’.  These legumes are an important part of the diet, not to mention low in fat and cholesterol, and high in fiber, potassium, iron, folate and magnesium.

Pork with Dried Cherries, Walnuts & Shiitakes

Hello, ladies and gentleman. How are you doing?

Let me tell you what I had for dinner last night. It was Pork tenderloin with dried cherries, walnuts and shiitakes. The pork was very tender and the food itself looked so pretty. I am not usually a fan of fruit with meat. Fruits are for snacking or dessert. Not chutneys, not salsas, not compotes. That said, I really liked this prepared gourmet meal from Jessie et Laurent. . The combination of  dried cherries with thyme (and wine and some other ingredients) adds a wonderful aromatic touch to what can be a bland cut of meat. It was just excellent... I wish I had some leftover in our fridge!

The quality of  food and service of Jessie et Laurent is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone.
It's a great service for those who are busy with work and don't have time to cook, and tired of take out food. I've known Jessie et Laurent more than 6 month now. I think I would be very happy if I lived in Spain. Why? Because I lovet heir lifestyle, especially their food, paella! This Paella is made with boneless tender dark chicken meat, linguica sausage, sweet snow peas, tomatoes, crisp green beans, red bell peppers, served with saffron infused rice. the best organic Roasted Chicken

Roasted chicken on Sunday night is a great way to have a nice meal then and throughout the week:)
Whenever I eat roast chicken, I remember Zuni Cafe in San Francisco. Their signature dish is Roasted Chicken but it's quite expensive for what it is. So, I don't go there often.

Well, I've missed the roasted chicken a lot. However, I had  another amazing organic roasted chicken with herbs from Jessie et Laurent. Roast chicken can be such a treat, as well as a perfect weeknight meal. This roasted chicken was amazing. Fresh and moist. The chicken was cooked with lemon, onion, garlic and fresh tarragon. Great dinner with lots of wine!

Succulent BBQ Beef Short Ribs

Hello, all! Happy Friday!


Beef Short Ribs are always a big favorite! We sometimes go to Korean restaurants on Gearly street in San Francisco when we crave BBQ short ribs. Actually, Korean style BBQ is pretty good but we had Succulent BBQ Beef Short Ribs from Jessie et Laurent last night. OMG! I was so speechless... The meat was mouth-watering tender! So good!!!!!!!!!! I wont go back to Korean restaurants anymore... I wish Jessie et Laurent had this Succulent BBQ Short Ribs every week..

French Dinner delivered at home

It's almost time for dinner. Our dinner is going to be Chicken Fricassee and Garlic Mashed Potatoes with Gruyere from Jesse et Laurent.  Fricassée is a traditional French stew made usually made with chicken. It's one of my husband's favorite dishes. Mmmm, looking at their weekly menu makes my mouth water!!!
