Good Morning San Francisco! It's so lovely day today! What did you do today?
I went to Dolores Park, I love getting my tan on at Dolores Park, bring a blanket, some drinks and delicious lunch from Jessie et Laurent. My lunch today was  Lamb Burgers with Cucumber Yogurt Sauce, it was  like Greek style burgers and so delicious.  The burger was full of flavor and have that unctuous taste that can really only be delivered by lamb- a flavor. It was juicy and the sauce was divine!

Taco Salad with Chipotle Chicken

 

Hello everyone.

I am a Mexican food lover, especially tacos! I had Taco salad with Chipotle Chicken from Jessie et Laurent for week night snack and believe it or not, it was one of the very best dishes in the world. I was very surprised when I opened the container because it looked so beautiful and colorful.

It was really a spectacular salad and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this salad. It was really filling. They deliver healthy homemade meals delivered to your home or office. It's like having a personal chef deliver meals to your door.

Irish Cauliflower Cheese Soup

Hello San Franciscan!

Do you love cauliflower?  I do! I had Irish Cauliflower Cheese Soup from Jessie et Laurent for quick lunch today. The soup was extremely tasty and can't be found in San Francisco in my local supermarket! Because this soup was very very homemade.  The cauliflower taste wasnt very strong but with all the cheese I feel a bit healthier! All  I needed was some good bread.

Do you like Crab Pot  Pie? I love Crab Pot Pie, its one of my favorite things in the world. I had crab pot pie from Jessie et Laurent for lunch yesterday.


The crab was sweet, the cream base rich and the peas makes a nice pop, fresh herbs, mushrooms, carrots, potatoes.  The puff pastry just makes me smile. It's so delicious! I know it’s making your mouth water.  Words can't say it at all!! Try It and See from Jessie et Laurent.

Potato Spinach Gratin

 Hello, everyone.

Let me talk about Potato Spinach Gratin I had from Jessie et Laurent today. OMG! You know what's amazing about this gratin? It's full of russet potatoes and spinach, gruyere cheese and a little bit of cream. It was perfect side dish. It was not too rich or heavy. It was just perfectly delicious!! I liked the layering process involved in creating this gratin. The flavor was just wonderful.. I wish I had some yammy soup which go well with this gratin.. Probably, Jessie et Laurent will offers some healthy soup next week!

I was in Ireland with my husband 5 years ago and I remember we had Irish Beef stew with Guinness. I’m very new to the world of curry or any Indian food. In fact, this is the first curry I had in my life..
I thought Indian curry is too spicy for me that is why I've never tried,I mean I didn't want to..  But, when I took a look of the weekly menu of Jessie Laurent this week, I found Shrimp with Indian Curry and Carrot Sauce. Ok.. I was like lets try this dish.

I really loved this dish though. The curry sausce was very mild maybe because the sauce was made with lots of fresh ginger, garlic, onions, carrot & Indian curry spices with a touch of coconut milk.
 And the shrimps were awesome!!!

What did you have for lunch?

I had Montego Red Pea Soup. This is a delivery meals from Jessie et Laurent.  The chicken broth and some spice combination is characteristic of Island cooking and it works well with  kidney beans.  It’s almost sweet, and would go well with a Rice dish to make a complete protein. I am a devout  rice lover!

This Montego Red Pea Soup was very tasty. It was made with home cooked red kidney beans (called red peas in the Caribbean) and slow cooked with chicken broth, onions, garlic, tomatoes, carrots and ham hock. Fresh lime juice sets it off at the end.

Pork with Dried Cherries, Walnuts & Shiitakes

Hello, ladies and gentleman. How are you doing?

Let me tell you what I had for dinner last night. It was Pork tenderloin with dried cherries, walnuts and shiitakes. The pork was very tender and the food itself looked so pretty. I am not usually a fan of fruit with meat. Fruits are for snacking or dessert. Not chutneys, not salsas, not compotes. That said, I really liked this prepared gourmet meal from Jessie et Laurent. . The combination of  dried cherries with thyme (and wine and some other ingredients) adds a wonderful aromatic touch to what can be a bland cut of meat. It was just excellent... I wish I had some leftover in our fridge!

Roasted chicken on Sunday night is a great way to have a nice meal then and throughout the week:)
Whenever I eat roast chicken, I remember Zuni Cafe in San Francisco. Their signature dish is Roasted Chicken but it's quite expensive for what it is. So, I don't go there often.

Beef Short Ribs are always a big favorite! We sometimes go to Korean restaurants on Gearly street in San Francisco when we crave BBQ short ribs. I had Niman Ranch Beef Marengo for dinner  from Jessie et Laurent. And let me say this... It was excellent!!  Marengo is a French dish named after the meal that Napoléon Bonaparte had after the Battle of Marengo. Napoléon typically went into battle on an empty stomach and was very hungry afterwards. His chef Dunand then had to create a dish with whatever ingredients were available at the time. Napoléon enjoyed the meal and considered it lucky because he had won the battle. Isn't is interesting story? I had this Niman Ranch Beef marengo with side of mashed potato. Very very delicious!

So, I will be at home by myself tonight and I will have French Quiche Lorraine and Artichoke & Mushroom Soup from Jessie et Laurent. French Quiche is absolutely my favorite and I don't want to share with my family! hahahaha. Quiche lorraine is a popular variant that was originally an open pie with a filling of custard with smoked bacon or lardons. The addition of Gruyere Cheese makes a quiche au gruyère or a quiche vosgienne. The best Quiche I had in my life is from Jessie et Laurent a few month ago and I have been waiting for this beautiful quiche!

Hello all.  How was your weekend? It was great for me!

Have you ever heard of Greek Moussak?
Moussaka is a layered oven casserole dish made with vegetables and meat. The most well known version of moussaka is made with layers of eggplant slices, cheese, and a meat sauce, topped with a thick béchamel sauce; however, other favorites call for potatoes, zucchini, or a combination of vegetables. More recently, a meatless (vegetarian) version has also become widely available.

This dish is one of Jessie et Laurent's menu. I had Moussak at a Greek restaurant in San Francisco a few years ago and it was pretty amazing. When I looked up Jessie's menu and found out this dish, I was so happy! Actually, I tried to make this dish once but couldn't make it. Kind of complicated dish to make...

Hello all! Happy Saturday!

I'm going on a picnic tomorrow.  where? To Golden Gate Park! It looks like nice weather tomorrow so my kids asked me to go out with food. But I don't cook, of coarse.

We will bring lunch which is left over from this week. I think we still have Free Range Smothered Chicken and some O'Savannah Salad in our fridge from Jessie et Laurent. And Cappuccino Mini Cheesecakes for desert. We had these food this Monday and they are still good!
